Join a Groundbreaking Infused Beverage Study!
NAP has successfully collaborated on various community-focused studies with our research partners MoreBetter, ranging from different cannabinoid products, to other natural products like kratom and kava (interesting results on that coming soon)!
In the meantime, we’re excited to share the next study we’re collaborating on! A first-of-its-kind real world study exploring how infused beverages may affect alcohol consumption, quality of life, mood, stress, sleep, and more. This will be one of our largest studies to date with up to 3,000 participants from across the United States.
Do you enjoy infused beverages? More details on how to participate at the bottom of this blog.
Why We’re Focusing on Infused Beverages
Consumer interest in functional beverages, particularly those infused with cannabis, adaptogens, and other wellness-boosting ingredients has surged in recent years. According to Fortune Business Insights, the global cannabis beverage market was valued at $2.4 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to $117.05 billion by 2032. North America accounted for 21.14% of that market in 2023, with the U.S. market alone is anticipated to reach $81.44 billion by 2032.
Despite this rapid growth, no large-scale real-world study has yet explored how these products might influence alcohol habits, mental well-being, or overall quality of life. Our study aims to bridge that gap by gathering comprehensive insights directly from participants in their everyday environments.
Infused Beverages and the Impact on Alcohol
As the popularity and availability of infused beverages continues to rise, alcohol consumption seems to be decreasing. Especially in adults under 25, according to this Gallop study.
Also, earlier this year the outgoing Surgeon General released the New Advisory Link Between Alcohol and Cancer Risk which outlined how alcohol is the third leading preventable cause of cancer, despite less than half of Americans recognizing it as a risk factor for cancer.
These events make it important, and timely, to collect real world data on the potential impact infused beverages have on alcohol consumption and desire.
Infused Beverage Study Details
Three Weeks of Real-World Insights
Participants will receive daily text messages over three weeks. For the first week, they respond to questions about their baseline habits, aka, before they start using an infused beverage. In the following two weeks, they incorporate an infused beverage from one of the study sponsors into their routine and continue answering daily check-ins. This structure allows us to compare before-and-after data, more accurately measuring product impact.WHO-5 Quality of Life Questionnaire
We employ the well-established WHO-5 questionnaire on a weekly basis to track changes in participants’ overall quality of life. This adds a recognized, data-driven layer to the information we collect on alcohol, stress, mood, sleep, and pain.Diverse Range of Products and Brands
Our study includes 19 products from 14 top brands, among them are Snoop Dogg’s Iconic Tonics portfolio with products from Doggy Spritz, Do It Fluid, and Love Yer Brain, as well as fan-favorite names like BRĒZ, Nowadays, and Cantrip. Beverage types include sodas, seltzers, mocktails, spirits, sparkling juices, teas, and flavorless shots with varying amounts of THC (1.5 mg to 10 mg), CBD (0 to 5 mg), and adaptogens. Flavors range from peach and lemon to blue raspberry, blood orange, mixed berries, and more.No Bias, Just Facts
Each participating brand will receive a personal report detailing how their specific product(s) performed among the 100–200 people who sampled them. We’ll also aggregate all results into an industry-wide report, showcasing overall trends and insights without pitting brands against each other. Don’t worry, this report is something that we will definitely be sharing with you later this year. Sign up for our email list to be the first to know!
How We’ll Use the Results
Once the data is collected and analyzed, MoreBetter will publish an Infused Beverage Industry Report. This will be a consolidated overview from all participants, highlighting the collective impact of functional beverages, from impact on alcohol consumption & desire to sleep, mood, and stress levels.
We’ll share the Infused Beverage Industry Report with you via an updated blog article and some videos on our social channels. So stay tuned for that towards the end of summer!
